Letojanni is an Italian commune in the metropolitan city of Messina in the autonomous region of Sicily with 2846 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Letojanni is located 50 km southwest of Messina directly on the east coast of Sicily. The municipality covers an area of ​​6.8 km². The main livelihood of the residents is tourism .

The neighboring municipalities are Castelmola , Forza d'Agrò , Gallodoro , Mongiuffi Melia and Taormina .

history

Letojanni was originally part of the Gallodoro municipality . In 1952 Letojanni was granted autonomy.

Attractions

The Church of San Giuseppe was destroyed by a severe earthquake in 1908 and rebuilt in 1929.
