Venetico is a city of Metropolitan city of Messina in the Region of Sicily in Italy with 4008 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Venetico is located 27 km west of Messina . The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture and in the brick industry.

The neighboring municipalities are Roccavaldina , Spadafora and Valdina .

history

The place is divided into two parts, Venetico Marina and Venetico Superiore. Both were founded in the late Middle Ages . In the period from 1929 to 1940 the place belonged to Spadafora, after which it was independent again.

Attractions

The castle dates from the 15th century. The parish church has an interesting interior.
