Alcara li Fusi is a municipality in the metropolitan city of Messina in the Sicily region in Italy with 1812 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Alcara li Fusi is located 132 km west of Messina in the northern part of Monti Nebrodi . The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture (cultivation of citrus fruits, olives and cereals) and in sheep breeding.

The neighboring municipalities are Cesarò , Longi , Militello Rosmarino , San Fratello and San Marco d'Alunzio .

history

The place was founded by the Arabs . In 1090 the place was donated to the Diocese of Messina by Count Ruggero .
