Location and dates

Tortorici is 109 km west of Messina . The inhabitants live mainly from agriculture, from cattle breeding or from handicrafts ( bell foundry ).

history

The place has existed since the 12th century. It was a dependent part of the Diocese of Messina. In 1682 and 1754 the place was badly damaged by storms.
