Rodì Milici is a municipality in the metropolitan city of Messina in the Sicily region in Italy with 1986 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Rodì Milici is 48 kilometers west of Messina . The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture (citrus fruits, olives and wine). The municipality of Rodì Milici is divided into two parts: Rodì on the left bank of the Patri stream, further south lies Milici on the right bank of the Patri stream.

The neighboring municipalities are Antillo , Castroreale , Fondachelli-Fantina , Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea , Novara di Sicilia and Terme Vigliatore .

history

The founding date of Rodì Milici is unknown. Crusaders of the Order of St. John probably received the place from Frederick II and named it after the Greek island of Rhodes . The origin of the crusaders is said to have been Rhodes.
