Liangshan (Sichuan)

Liangshan's location in Sichuan.

The Liangshan Autonomous District of the Yi ( 涼山彝族自治州 , Liángshān Yízú zìzhìzhōu ; Yi: ꆃꎭ, in official transcription: niep sha , in IPA : [nɛ ²¹ ʂa ³³ ]) is located in the southwest of the Chinese province of Sichuan . Liangshan has an area of 60,423 km² and approx. 4.7 million inhabitants (2016). Its capital is Xichang (西昌市).
