This list of members of the Burgenland Landtag (XX legislative period) lists all members of the Burgenland Landtag in the XX. Legislative period (as of April 4, 2013), which began on June 24, 2010 with the constitution of the state parliament. Since the state elections in 2010 , the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) has provided 18 of the 36 MPs, with the SPÖ losing one mandate and an absolute majority compared to the state elections in 2005 . The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) was able to keep its 13 mandates. In addition, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) with three members and the Greens Burgenland (GRÜNE) with one member are represented in the state parliament, with the FPÖ winning one seat and the Greens losing one seat in the state election. Since the state elections in 2010, the Burgenland list has also been represented by a member of the state parliament for the first time .

After the deputies were sworn in on June 24, 2010, the state parliament members elected the members of the state government Niessl III at the same meeting . The legislative period ended in 2015.

Functions

Landtag President

The SPÖ politician Gerhard Steier was elected President of the State Parliament at the constituent meeting . Steirer replaced Walter Prior (also SPÖ) in his office , who was retiring. In addition, Kurt Lentsch (ÖVP) was re-elected as 2nd President and Manfred Moser (SPÖ) as 3rd President at the constituent meeting . The joint election proposal of the SPÖ and ÖVP with the three candidates received 32 of 36 possible votes (with 4 no votes), whereby the FPÖ and the Greens had already announced in advance that they would not elect Styria as president.

Club stewards

The MPs of the SPÖ again elected Christian Illedits as their club chairman. Even Rudolf Strommer was confirming its previous function of the ÖVP club chairman. Johann Tschürtz also remained in his function as FPÖ club chairman , while the Greens lost the function of club chairman due to their loss of mandate. The LBL was also unable to claim the position of club chairman due to its mandate.
