Walter Fritzsch (1971), most successful coach in the club's history
The list of football coaches from Dynamo Dresden includes all coaches of the first male team at Dynamo Dresden . Since 1950, the club and its predecessors have employed 36 coaches and several interim coaches. Markus Kauczinski has been the current head coach of the current second division team since December 2019 .

Trivia
- Walter Fritzsch , Rolf Kukowitsch , Helmut Petzold , Kurt Kresse , Klaus Sammer , Eduard Geyer and Peter Pacult had two terms as coach at Dynamo Dresden .
- Ralf Minge and Steffen Menze each worked twice as interim trainer . Cristian Fiél was Dynamo Dresden's first head coach, who was previously the team's interim coach.
- The most successful term of office is that of Walter Fritzsch with five GDR championship titles and two FDGB cup wins in the 1970s. Helmut Petzold made three promotions during his time as a dynamo coach, including two in the highest possible league.
- The longest term of office was achieved by Walter Fritzsch , who after a one-month interlude in the summer of 1953 was again dynamo coach from 1969 to 1978 - for a total of nine years. The total length of Helmut Petzold's two terms in office in 1954 and in the years 1958 to 1966 was about eight years and ten months.
- In the time since the fall of the Wall , two coaches at Dynamo Dresden had a term of more than two years: Christoph Franke and Uwe Neuhaus .
- The shortest term of office was that of Rolf Schafstall with 57 days.
- With Gerhard Prautzsch , Klaus Sammer and Eduard Geyer , Dynamo Dresden had head coaches throughout the 1980s who had previously played for the team themselves. Six other head coaches ( Häfner , Kreische , Schmuck , Schade , Maucksch and Fiél ) and four interim coaches ( Minge , Hemp , Köhler and Scholz ) were also active as players for Dynamo Dresden before.
