Mitschurinski ( Russian Мичуринский , German  Althof Ragnit , lithuanian Senoji Ragaine ) is a place in the Russian Kaliningrad region and belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Neman in Nemansky District .

Geographical location

Michurinsky is located two kilometers northwest of the town of Neman (Ragnit) , which it is directly adjacent to, and nine kilometers southeast of Sovetsk (Tilsit) . Regional road 27A-033 (ex A198 ) runs through the village . The nearest train station is Sovetsk on the railway lines from Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) and from Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) .

history

The small village with the former name Althof-Ragnit became the seat on April 15, 1874 and gave its name to an administrative district . It existed until 1945 and was part of the circle Ragnit , from 1922 to the district Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 there were 147 inhabitants in the Althof-Ragnit estate. Until September 30, 1928 the manor village was independent. Then it was incorporated into the city of Ragnit (now Russian: Neman).

In 1945 Althof-Ragnit came to the Soviet Union as a result of the war with all of northern East Prussia and in 1950 received the Russian name Michurinski again . At the same time the place was classified in the village soviet Petrowski selski Sowet in the Rajon Sovetsk , the later village soviet or village district Rakitinski selski Sowet (okrug) in the Raion Neman. Around 1997, Michurinsky became the administrative seat of its own village district. Althof-Ragnit district (1874–1945)

Between 1874 and 1945 it existed the Althof-Ragnit district, which from July 1, 1922 belonged to the Tilsit-Ragnit district . Initially four villages were assigned to him, and then two villages:

Michurinski selski okrug 1998–2008

The Michurinski selski okrug (ru. Мичуринский сельский округ) village district was probably established in 1997 or 1998. Its places previously belonged to the village district of Rakitinski selski okrug . In 2008 the village district was dissolved and its places were incorporated into the newly formed urban municipality Nemanskoje gorodskoje posselenije .

Before 1945, the population of Althof-Ragnit was predominantly of Protestant denomination. The village thus belonged to the parish of the Ragnit Church in the Ragnit diocese of the Tilsit-Ragnit church district within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
