Faience
There has been ceramics in Moustiers since the Middle Ages . In the 17th century, the technique of faience began to be used, and so the place became a center of faience production, which lasted until the 19th century. Due to falling demand due to lower prices for porcelain, production in Moustiers ended. In the 20th century, however, the craft was revived, so that today you can find some businesses and shops in the village where this special ceramic is produced and offered. A museum shows the technique of faience and exhibits some fine examples.
