from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Ölfetal with a size of 12.37  ha is located west and south-east of Dreislar in the urban area of Medebach . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2003 with the Medebach landscape plan. The NSG is part of the European bird sanctuary Medebacher Bucht . The NSG consists of two areas. The western part of the area borders on the city of Hallenberg in the west . In the east, the eastern area extends to the state border with Hesse .

Area description

The NSG consists of parts of the grassland valley of the Ölfe brook . Endangered plant species occur in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG should protect the grassland with the stream and its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
