Nigeria took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital of Rome with a delegation of twelve male athletes in twelve competitions in two sports.

The youngest athlete was the boxer Karimu Young (18 years and 158 days), the oldest athlete was the sprinter Jimmy Omagbemi (29 years and 286 days). It was the country’s third Summer Olympics participation .
