At the XXVI. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, there were two hockey competitions. In the play-offs no extra time was played, but a seven-meter shoot-out was carried out immediately. The interchanging rule was applied for the first time at the Olympic Games : up to 16 players could be used in one game.
