The women's individual 15 km race in biathlon at the 2014 Winter Olympics took place on February 14, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Laura biathlon and cross-country skiing center . Belarusian Darja Domratschawa , who had already won the pursuit race, was able to secure the gold medal again. Silver went to Selina Gasparin from Switzerland , while the bronze medal was won by a Belarusian athlete, Nadseja Skardsina .

Competition description

The individual competition is the oldest discipline in biathlon and is therefore also considered a "classic". The 15 km were divided into five equally long running laps, after the first four the athletes had to hit five targets at the shooting range in the order lying-standing-lying-standing. Unlike in the other disciplines, the athletes were given a penalty of one minute for each disc not hit. The winner was whoever had the fastest overall time at the finish.

Total ascent: 550 m, maximum ascent: 28 m, height difference: 57 m
