Organ building institute Karl Bach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The organ building company Karl Bach was a German organ building company based in Aachen .

history

The Karl Bach Organ Builder existed at least since the 1920s. The company produced many new organs, especially after the war. Probably in the 1970s the company ceased to exist.

List of works (selection)

Most of the organs are located in the region between Aachen and Düren in the village churches that were badly damaged or completely destroyed in the Second World War. This was due to the fact that Bach built inexpensive organs. These were manufactured in prefabricated construction. This enabled many organs to be erected in the churches in a short time. However, this means that the quality of many organs is rather poor. Today many organs by Karl Bach are being expanded and replaced by new ones.
