Osaka Mayor's Cup

The Osaka Mayor's Cup is a world junior tennis tournament that was first held in 1993 and is held annually in October on a hard court in the Japanese city ​​of Osaka by the International Tennis Federation . Together with the Trofeo Bonfiglio , the Banana Bowl , the Yucatán Cup and the Orange Bowl , the tournament is part of the internationally important series of Grade A tournaments and, together with the junior competitions of the four Grand Slam tournaments, is one of the world's most important tennis tournaments for Juniors.

history

From 1993 to 1995 the tournament was held as the Coca-Cola Super Junior Championships of Japan in Kanagawa Prefecture . In 1996 the competition was relocated to Osaka under the title World Super Junior Tennis Championships and in 2001 it was held for the first time as the Osaka Mayor's Cup .
