Radekhiv (Ukrainian Радехів ; Russian Радехов / Radechow , Polish Radziechów ) is in the western Ukraine lying Rajonshauptstadt about 68 kilometers northeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Lviv on the river Ostriwka located (Острівка).
history
Radziechów was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1494 and was then in the aristocratic republic of Poland in the Bełz Voivodeship . It became part of the Austrian Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria in 1772 and received city rights in 1794. From 1854 to 1867 it was the seat of the Radziechów District Office, after which a District Court for the Kamionka Strumiłowa District was established, and in 1912 the place became the seat of its own district . After the end of the First World War, the place came to Poland and was here until 1939 in the Tarnopol Voivodeship , Powiat Radziechów , Gmina Radziechów . In Galicia , Austria, until 1918 , the majority of Ukrainians lived in 1880, while a minority was of Polish and German nationality. Another large group of the population were Jews . In 1910 a train station was opened in the village on what is now the Lviv – Kiverti line.
After the end of the First World War, the place came to the resurrected Poland and was from 1921 in the Tarnopol Voivodeship . Due to the agreements of the Hitler-Stalin Pact , Radechiv became part of Ukraine. During the German invasion of the Soviet Union on June 23, 1941, the first tank battle between the German 11th Panzer Division and Soviet tank troops was waged around Radechiv . The German advance led to the fact that the place was occupied by Germany until 1944 and belonged to the Generalgouvernement .
After the end of the war Radechiv was again added to the Soviet Union , there the city came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
The town of Kuty (Кути) to the east of the town also belongs to the municipality .
