Regina Höfer

Regina Höfer (married Pippig ; born October 18, 1947 in Leipzig ) is a former German sprinter and hurdler who started for the GDR .

Life

At the European Athletics Championships in 1966 , she was eliminated in the semifinals of the 80-meter hurdles . In the following year she was fifth at the European Indoor Games in Prague in 1967 in the 50 meter hurdles and won bronze in the 4 x 150 meter relay with the GDR team.

She had her greatest successes after moving to SC DHfK Leipzig at the end of 1968 with her trainer Karl-Heinz Balzer . She trained in the training group u. a. with Karin Balzer and Christina Heinich .

She became European champion with the GDR team in Athens in 1969 in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 43.6 s (together with Bärbel Podeswa , Renate Meißner , Petra Vogt ). She was sixth in each of these European championships in the 100-meter run (11.8 s) and in the 100-meter hurdles (13.9 s).

She also started at the European Championships in 1966 in the 80-meter hurdles and was eliminated there in the semi-finals.

Regina Höfer is 1.69 m tall and weighed 55 kg during her active time. She belonged to the SC DHfK Leipzig . In 1970 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit.
