S'Alqueria Blanca (also: L'Alqueria Blanca) is a village and part of the municipality of Santanyí , which in turn is one of 53 independent municipalities on the Balearic Mediterranean island of Mallorca . The village is located in the southeast of the island and borders the village of Calonge in the northeast , a little further to the south is the Parc natural de Mondragó and in the southwest the main town of the region, Santanyí.
Surname
The name of the place is derived from Alquería ( German : rural settlement ) and Blanca for white - thus - white settlement in the country . The prefix s' indicates the Moorish past of the settlement.
Geography, location and language
The village of s'Alqueria Blanca (about 100 msnm ) is located in a slightly hilly landscape in the extreme southeast of Mallorca and is about 60 kilometers from the capital Palma and well connected by the road network. The village has (2017) a population of 939 people. The official languages are Catalan and Spanish .
The national road MA 19 , which leads from Santanyí to Portopetro , runs in a large arc across the village and in the village itself the MA 4012 branches off from MA 19 in the direction of Calonge.
Local services are the most important industry.

- Sant Josep de s'Alqueria church (consecrated in 1863). Ceremonies in honor of the patron saint of the village, Saint Joseph, will take place on March 19.
- Pou Del Rei, historic public fountain, on Cami de Pou del Rei
- About 1.2 km as the crow flies outside of the village is the historical sight Santuari de la Consolacio with a chapel built in the 16th century with a bell tower, a statue of Mary and Child and a traditionally carved altar.

Trivia
The Hamburger Hügel is located in the geographical square between s'Alqueria Blanca, Calonge, Es Carritxó and Cas Concos . This is not an official name, but an ironic name for an area in which wealthy German citizens, formerly mainly from the area around Hamburg , have settled. The proportion of German citizens in the Santanyí region is 12.9%.
