S'Horta (also: L'Horta or earlier Sant Isidre or Sant Isidre de la Huerta) is a village and part of the municipality ofSurname
The name of the place was fixed at the beginning of the 20th century by the city council of Felanitx with Sant Isidre ( Eng . : St. Isidore), but not accepted by the population. The village was previously known as s'Horta or Es Bubots . The place name Sant Isidre was then added to Horta (Huerta) ( Sant Isidre de la Huerta or Sant Isidre de la Horta ) from which the current abbreviation as s'Horta or l'Horta resulted.
The name of the place denotes a fertile piece of land created by irrigation ( approx .: Horta - dt .: Garden ) and is used several times in Mallorca with this meaning. The prefix s' indicates the Moorish past of the settlement. Irrigation has a centuries-old tradition in s'Horta.
