Saint-André-de-l'Eure is a French municipality with 3988 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Eure in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the arrondissement of Évreux and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Saint-André-de-l'Eure .
geography
Saint-André-de-l'Eure is located about 15 kilometers south-southeast of Évreux . Saint-André-de-l'Eure is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Baronnie in the north, Fresney and Foucrainville in the northeast, Mousseaux-Neuville in the east, Champigny-la-Futelaye in the south and southeast, Coudres in the south and southwest, Les Authieux in the West and La Forêt-du-Parc to the north-west.
The Saint-André-de-l'Eure airfield with two runways (1100 meters and 400 meters) is also located on the border with the neighboring municipality of Les Authieux . The former Route nationale 833 also runs through the municipality .
history
In 1809, the previously independent communes of Batigny and Saint-Georges-des-Champs were incorporated. Saint-André has had the de-l'Eure suffix since 1890.
