It belongs to the arrondissement of Évreux and the canton of Évreux-2 (until 2015 Évreux-Nord ) as well as to the municipal association of Évreux Portes de Normandie . The inhabitants are called Émallevillais .

Émalleville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Vacherie in the north and north-west, La Chapelle-du-Bois-des-Faulx in the north and east, Le Boulay-Morin in the south-east, Normanville in the south, Saint-Germain-des-Angles in the south-west and Brosville in the west and northwest.
