Second round
The teams from the Axpo Super League could not meet. If a team was in a lower league, it was given home advantage, otherwise the team drawn first. The draw took place on September 21, 2009 in Zurich.
On September 24th it was announced that FC Locarno would cede its home rights to their opponent, FC Zurich . Next came the FC Wil and FC Serrières NE her home right at the FC St. Gallen and Neuchatel Xamax from. As a side effect, a discussion was triggered as to whether small clubs should be allowed to give up their home rights; for many lower-class people, the Cup would become a “financial burden”.
The game between FC Muotathal and FC Töss, which was originally scheduled for October 17th, had to be postponed by a week due to snowfall.
