Ski amadé network |
With 270 ski lifts and cable cars, the Ski amadé ski association is one of the largest winter sports areas in Europe. It includes a total of 25 towns, all of which are in the Austrian federal states of Salzburg and Styria . The Dachstein ski area also has a share in the state of Upper Austria.
history
At the end of the 1980s, mountain railways and tourism associations joined forces in the entire Pongau (Salzburg) region. First there was a mutual recognition of the lift tickets, later an advertising association. In 2000, 270 ski lifts and 25 municipalities joined forces and set up the Ski amadé civil society based in Radstadt. The cooperation model of Dolomiti Superski served as a model .
The contractual basis for cooperation between lift and cable car companies is a written cooperation and sales distribution agreement . This not only regulates the ski pass common to all regions and the related decision, control and revenue sharing issues, but also prohibits the individual ski areas from offering ski passes or lift tickets for the individual regions. The cooperation agreement also provides for centralized price setting for small ski areas.
In the course of the growth phase, the Cartel Court ruled on November 10, 2003 , "that the agreement on prices by the members of the Amadé ski association [...], the agreement on the local area for which the cards are valid, and the Prohibition of issuing or de facto non-offer of tickets for the lifts only in individual regions within the Amadé ski association is subject to the cartel law. ”The Chamber of Labor and Ski amadé then agreed in negotiations to register the ski association with the cartel court. The agreement reached provides that Ski amadé will approve the pricing of day tickets from the 2004/05 ski season.
Ski amadé has undertaken major advertising efforts in recent years and is also often present in the media, albeit not always positively, as the reports on the high price policy and the cartel allegations show. In several lawsuits the company in Austria tried to acquire the domain amade.at, this plaintiff's claim, however, were lack of presence of domain grabbing rejected. In Germany , the ski region advertises with the slogan Live - in Ski Amadé . The advertising song is a remix of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 21st Piano Concerto .
Scope of services
Ski amadé and its partner regions look after a total of around 760 kilometers of slopes (356 slopes), 90% of which (684 km) can be snow- covered by machines . There are 270 lifts and cable cars (47 gondola lifts , 90 chair lifts , 81 drag lifts , 52 practice lifts) with a total transport capacity of 365,000 people / hour.

The organization thus provides around 10% of Austria's guest beds (around 8% of businesses) and around a third of all arrivals in the winter tourism sector in Austria .
