Turkish football cup winner 1964 was Galatasaray Istanbul . The competition began on October 6, 1963 with the 1st main round and ended on June 29, 1964 with the second leg of the finals. Galatasaray Istanbul and Altay Izmir met in the final.

Return leg

The return leg between Galatasaray Istanbul and Altay Izmir was to take place on June 28, 1964. On the same day, a game of Ordu Milli Takım (German Army National Team) took place in Istanbul . Ayhan Elmastaşoğlu , Uğur Köken and Talat Özkarslı (all Galatasaray players) took part in this game . The second leg was supposed to take place the following day, but it didn't happen. Altay saw this decision as an advantage for Galatasaray and did not participate in protest. The Galatasaray team took to the field and were named winners.
