Tramplin Stork or Aist refers to a facility with several ski jumps in Nizhny Tagil , Russia ( Russian Комплекс трамплинов "Аист" , Kompleks tramplinow "Aist" ). It consists of a large hill ( HS 134), a normal hill (HS 100) and three small hills of categories K40 and K60 . The English name Stork , German Storch is the translation of the Russian name Aist . It was derived from the name of a nearby former rest home for miners.
In 1970, five jumps (K110, K90, K40, K20, K10) were built on the 379 m high Dolgaja (“Long Mountain”) for the special jumpers and Nordic combined athletes. In 2009, extensive renovation work began, in the course of which the previous facilities were completely demolished. A completely new center with four ski jumps, all of which are covered with plastic matting, was built for around 50 million euros. While the work on the ski jumping hill itself is almost complete, construction is still going on in the area. Grandstands for 2,000 spectators, a lift, a cross-country stadium with trails and a sports hotel are to be built. In 2010 there was a construction freeze due to a lack of financial support, but this was lifted after an inspection by FIS officials . In December 2012, the first jumps on the ski jumping complex could be completed. In the following, the jumps were, among other things, the venue for the finals of the Continental Cup and the Grand Prix . In March 2015, Anže Semenič improved the hill record to 142.5 m as part of the season finale of the Continental Cup.
