Viktor Pawlowytsch Putjatin ( Ukrainian Віктор Павлович Путятін ; born September 12, 1941 in Charkow , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Soviet foil fencer .

successes

Viktor Putyatin won the individual world championship in 1967 in Montreal . With the team he won the title in Paris in 1965 , in Moscow in 1966 , in Havana in 1969 and in Ankara in 1970 . He took part in the Olympic Games twice: In 1968 he and the team in Mexico City reached the gold medal match, unbeaten, in which France beat the Soviet team 9: 6. In addition to Juri Scharow , German Sweschnikow , Juri Sissikin and Wassyl Stankowytsch , Putjatin received the silver medal. He finished the individual competition in ninth place. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , he repeated his success with the team when he again won silver with Wladimir Denisov , Anatoli Koteschew , Leonid Romanow and Wassyl Stankowytsch, this time behind Poland .
