Yamaha TW
The Yamaha TW (Yamaha Trailway) is a light motorcycle or motorcycle from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha . In Germany and most other European countries, the Yamaha TW was offered as a 125 cm³ version. There is also the TW with a 200 cm³ and a 225 cm³ engine.
All Yamaha TWs are equipped with a 130 mm front tire (130 / 80-18) and a 180 mm rear tire (180 / 80-14). The total ready-to-drive weight of the Yamaha TW 125/200/225 is 125 kg, including seven liters of tank capacity (including one liter reserve). The Yamaha TW gets along with conventional regular gasoline (91 octane).
Models
TW125
The engine has a displacement of 125 cm³ with a bore of 57.0 mm and a stroke of 48.8 mm. Production started in 1999, was sold in the EU (including Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Spain), and sales ended in 2003.
TW200
The frame and the chassis are basically identical to the Yamaha TW125. However, the engine has a displacement of 200 cm³ with a bore of 67.0 mm and a stroke of 55.7 mm, the compression ratio is 9.5: 1. After production started in 1987, it is still sold in the USA today. The machine is equipped with an electric starter and costs around $ 4,500 in the MSRP . Since the US state of California has stricter emissions standards than the rest of the USA, Yamaha offers a modified California version (marked as Cal. In the table). In Japan, the model change to the TW225 took place in 2001.
Only a few TW200 found their way to Europe. Spain was the only European country to which the TW200 was officially imported. Almost all TW200s that can be found in Europe came from Spain or were imported into the respective country by a few dealers themselves.
TW225
Officially, the TW225 was only sold in Japan from 2002 to 2007. Only a few TW225 were imported into neighboring Asian countries (gray imports). The frame and the chassis are basically identical to the smaller models. The engine here has a displacement of 225 cm³ with a bore of 70.0 mm and a stroke of 58.0 mm.
In Europe it is almost impossible to get a TW225 as there was no importer or dealer who imported this machine to Europe.
