Zdeněk (alternative spelling: Zděnek or Zdenek ) is a common Czech first name. In 2007 he was ranked 11th of the most popular male given names in the Czech Republic.
Zdeněk is the Czech variant of the name Sidonius . The form Zdenko comes from Old Czech and is no longer used in naming today. But Zdenko is a very common name in Croatia. The female form Zdena or Zdeňka can also be found in the Czech Republic and Croatia.
