Location of Pedro Leopoldo within Minas Gerais

Pedro Leopoldo is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Minas Gerais. The city belongs to the mesoregion Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte and to the microregion of Belo Horizonte. The city is birthplace to the medium Chico Xavier and the 1970 World Champion and Cruzeiro footballer Dirceu Lopes.

Pedro Leopoldo is just 46km far from the capital, Belo Horizonte.

The municipality contains 44% of the 2,004 hectares (4,950 acres) Sumidouro State Park, created in 1980.[1]
