French Rugby Union Championship 1958/59
The 1958/59 season was the 60th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 48 teams in the top division (today's top 14 ).
The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group stage, in which eight teams played against each other in six groups. The five best in each group and the two best sixth-placed made it into the knockout round. Sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals followed. In the final, which took place on May 24, 1959 in Parc Lescure in Bordeaux , the two semi-final winners met and played for the Bouclier de Brennus . The Racing Club de France prevailed against Stade Montois and won the championship title for the fourth time.
