The 1974/75 season was the 76th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 64 teams in the top division for the last time (today's top 14 ). In the following season, the field of participants was reduced to 40 teams.
The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group stage, in which eight teams played against each other in eight groups. The top four in each group made it into the knockout round. Sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals followed. In the final, which took place on May 18, 1975 in the Parc des Princes in Paris , the two semi-final winners met and played for the Bouclier de Brennus . The AS Béziers prevailed against the CA Brive and won the championship title for the fifth time.
