The 2010/11 season was the 112th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 14 teams in the top division Top 14 and 16 teams in the second highest division Pro D2 .

Top 14

The regular season of the Top 14 had 26 game days (one first and one second round). It began on August 13, 2010 and lasted until May 7, 2011. The two best-placed teams qualified directly for the semifinals and met the winners of the barrage games, which were played between the third to sixth placed. The semi-final winners met in the final on June 4, 2011 and played for the Bouclier de Brennus championship trophy at the Stade de France . Here sat Stade Toulousain against Montpellier Hérault RC through and won for the 18th time the championship. The last two teams, Atlantique Stade Rochelais and CS Bourgoin-Jallieu , had to relegate to Pro D2.

    • 2 points if there is a tie
    • 0 points in the event of a loss (before possible bonus points)
    • -2 points in the event of a forfait loss
    • 1 bonus point for three attempts more than the opponent
    • 1 bonus point if you lose less than seven points

    The regular season of the Pro D2 consisted of 30 game days (one first and one second round). It began on August 28, 2010 and lasted until May 8, 2011. The best-placed team, Lyon Olympique Universitaire , rose straight away. The teams in places 2 to 5 contested a playoff for the second promotion place, which the Union Bordeaux Bègles could secure on May 22, 2011. Two teams had to relegate to the Amateur League Fédérale 1 , the US Colomiers and the CA Saint-Étienne .
