The 2007/08 season was the 109th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 14 teams in the top division Top 14 and 16 teams in the second highest division Pro D2 .

Top 14

The regular season of the Top 14 had 26 game days (one first and one second round). It began on October 26, 2007 ( about two months later than usual because of the 2007 World Cup ) and lasted until June 14. The four best-placed teams qualified for the semi-finals. In the final, which took place on June 28, 2008 in the Stade de France , the semi-final winners played for the Bouclier de Brennus championship trophy . Here sat Stade Toulousain against ASM Clermont Auvergne through and won for the 17th time the championship.

The last placed FC Auch relegated to Pro D2, while SC Albi was relegated for financial reasons. As a result, the US Dax , which is second to last, escaped relegation.
