The 2011/12 season of the Hessenliga was the 34th season of the Football Hessenliga and the fourth as the fifth-highest division in Germany. 1. FC Eschborn secured the championship and promotion to the regional league with seven points ahead of KSV Baunatal . By switching to the Bavarian Football Association for the 2012/13 season, Viktoria Aschaffenburg , fourth in the table, also rose to the Bavarian regional league .

The relegation ranks were occupied by Rot-Weiss Frankfurt and Eintracht Wetzlar . 1. FCA Darmstadt landed on the relegation place , but managed to stay in the league there.

From the three seasons of the Hessen Association League , SC Viktoria Griesheim , FSV Braunfels and Huenfeld SV as well as FC Eddersheim via the relegation round rose.

The top scorer was Rene Huneck from FSC Lohfelden with 27 goals. The SpVgg Hadamar played after the merger with the SC Rot-Weiß Niederhadamar in the following season under the name SV Rot-Weiß Hadamar .

Relegation round to the Hessen League

The relegation contested the three club league vice-champions TSV Lehnerz (north), FC Eddersheim (middle) and Kickers Obertshausen (south) together with the 15th of the Hessenliga, the 1. FCA Darmstadt . After three match days, on which each team met each other once, Darmstadt and Eddersheim finally prevailed. FC Eddersheim was promoted to the Hessen League, while 1. FCA Darmstadt was able to stay in the class. Obertshausen and Lehnerz remained in the association league.
