Gönnheim is a municipality in the Bad Dürkheim district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse .
Geographical location and climate
The wine-growing area is located between the Haardt Mountains and the Rhine, not far from the German Wine Route. Neighboring towns are Friedelsheim , Ellerstadt and Rödersheim-Gronau . The mild climate enables the cultivation of southern plants; the community is characterized by wine, arable and fruit growing.
history
Gönnheim was first mentioned in a document as Ginnenheim in 771 . During the time of the tribal duchies , the place belonged to the Duchy of Franconia . In 1592 the population was 184.
