The 2009 Guangzhou International Women's Open was the 6th edition of the women's hard court tennis tournament in Guangzhou , China . It was part of the WTA Tour 2009 as a tournament in the International category . It took place at the same time as the Bell Challenge 2009 in Québec , Canada from September 12th to 20th, 2009.

The defending champion in singles was Vera Swonaryova and in doubles the pairing consisting of Marija Korytzewa and Tazzjana Putschak .

In the singles Shahar Peer won against Alberta Brianti 6: 3, 6: 4 and in the doubles Wolha Hawarzowa / Tazzjana Putschak against Kimiko Date Krumm / Sun Tiantian with 3: 6, 6: 2, [10: 8].
