The 2009 BNP Paribas Open is a hard court tennis tournament for women in Indian Wells . It was part of the 2009 WTA Tour as a Premier Mandatory category tournament . The tournament took place from March 11-22, 2009.

The final in the individual denied Wera Swonarjowa and Ana Ivanović , which Swonarjowa won in straight sets. In doubles, the pairing Wiktoryja Asaranka and Wera Swonarjowa won in three sets against Gisela Dulko and Shahar Peer .
