Ivar Valentin Johansson (born January 31, 1903 in Söderköping , † August 4, 1979 in Norrköping ) was a Swedish wrestler .
Life
Johansson grew up in Norrköping and trained as a mechanic. He later joined the police and took it to the police officer. As a teenager he joined the Norrköpingsklubben IK Björnen, a wrestling club. Soon he achieved first successes on a regional and then also on a Swedish level. However, the international breakthrough did not take place until 1929. From 1931 he dominated the international wrestling scene in his weight class to an extent that no one before him had succeeded and no one succeeded after him. The war ended his career in 1939. He would probably have competed in the 1940 Olympic Games scheduled for Tokyo . A room is dedicated to him and his successes in the city museum of Norrköping.
