La Haye is a French commune with 4,006 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Coutances and the canton of Créances .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 by amalgamating the previous municipalities of Baudreville , Bolleville , Glatigny , La Haye-du-Puits , Mobecq , Montgardon , Saint-Rémy-des-Landes and Saint-Symphorien-le-Valois and Surville . The former municipalities have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in La Haye-du-Puits.

geography
La Haye is located on the western English Channel coast on the Cotentin Peninsula . Neighboring municipalities on the mainland are Port-Bail-sur-Mer with the Commune déléguée Denneville and Saint-Sauveur-de-Pierrepont in the north-west, Saint-Nicolas-de-Pierrepont in the north, Doville and Neufmesnil in the north-east, Montsenelle in the east, Vesly in the South-east, Saint-Germain-sur-Ay and Lessay in the south and Bretteville-sur-Ay in the south-west.
