history
Belonging to the Reuss rule , Laasen was first mentioned in 1333 as a Vorwerk , the name roughly means settlement on new land. In the southeast of the village, for example in the area of the later estate, there was originally a moated castle .
Laasen appeared as an independent municipality for the first time in 1409, the responsible church location is Trebnitz. In 1595 Heinrich Posthumus Reuss made it a chamber property . In 1827 the place included the manorial Vorwerk, 8 houses and 42 inhabitants. A community seal from 1870 shows the motifs rake , scythe and flail - a visible external sign of an agrarian place. In 1914 the first syringe house was built on the grounds of the Kammergut.
In the course of the land reform , the Reussische Kammergut Trebnitz was smashed. The land was divided up to new farmers and in 1948 some of the buildings were demolished. In 1960 the LPG Wiesengrund, a LPG type 1, was founded. The Bismarck tower to the west, in the direction of Gera on the Steinertsberg, was demolished, and new farmhouses were built from its stones .
In 1923 Laasen was incorporated into Trebnitz for the first time, this "marriage" lasted less than a year: On October 1, 1923, Laasen became an independent municipality again. On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated again in Trebnitz, and on July 1, 1994, despite considerable resistance, it was incorporated in Gera.

Laasen and Trebnitz have been part of the Trebnitz district of the city of Gera since 1994 with its own local constitution and local council (until II / 2009 local council) . Knut Prager has been the local mayor since 2002.
