The Banz district court was an older Bavarian district court that existed from 1803 to 1851 and was based in Burgebrach in today's Bamberg district . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 .

history

The Banz monastery was the owner of the Bamberg Office of Banz in the Holy Roman Empire .

Since the Peace of Lunéville in 1801, it was clear that Electoral Palatinate Bavaria would receive additional areas as compensation for the loss of the Palatinate on the left bank of the Rhine through the secularization of clerical and sometimes also mediatization of smaller secular territories. In the subsequent negotiations it was agreed that the Bamberg Monastery should fall to Bavaria. This was implemented with the "civil occupation" of November 29, 1802 and approved with the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss . Prince-Bishop Christoph Franz von Buseck was deposed as secular head but remained ecclesiastical bishop . The Bamberg officials were sworn in on Elector Max Joseph , the direct possessions of the Prince-Bishop became state property. On February 17, 1803, the Banz monastery was also abolished and its office became state.

After secularization, the Banz district judge's office was set up by rescript of October 24, 1803 with effect from November 11, 1803 . In addition to the former Banz office, this included places from the former Buch am Forst monastery office . With the formation edict of November 16, 1804, the Banz district judge was renamed the Banz district court.

In 1813 Wilhelm acquired the Banz Regional Court in Bavaria . Thus it was in one on October 29, 1813 rule court converted II. Class. With the March Revolution of 1848 these courts were repealed. The district court was then still a judicial and police authority until 1851 and was dissolved on March 16, 1851. The court district was assigned to the Lichtenfels district court .
