The women's 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1998 European Athletics Championships was held on August 22, 1998 in the Népstadion in the Hungarian capital, Budapest .
France was European champion with Katia Benth , Frédérique Bangué , Sylviane Félix and Christine Arron . Second place went to Germany with Melanie Paschke , Gabi Rockmeier , Birgit Rockmeier and Andrea Philipp . Bronze went to Russia ( Oxana Eck , Galina Maltschugina , Natalja Voronowa , Irina Priwalowa ).
