The men's discus throw at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held on August 9 and 11, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .
The Belarusian discus throwers won two medals in this competition: silver and bronze . For the third time in a row, the German Lars Riedel became world champion. Silver went to the reigning European champion Uladsimir Dubrouschtschyk . In third place came Wassil Kapzjuch .

Record improvement
The German world champion Lars Riedel improved the existing world championship record in the final on August 11th by two centimeters to 68.76 m.
qualification
43 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 62.00 m. Six athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the six next-placed athletes to twelve throwers (highlighted in light green). So finally 61.08 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
