Grave site of Helmut Kraatz [and his wife (Anna) Maria Kraatz] in the cemetery of the Ev. St. Petri Luisenstadt parish with a sculpture by Achim Kühn | The metal sculpture from 1983 by Achim Kühn for the grave of the doctor Helmut Kraatz is called Die Ehe (also the bond between woman and man ) and was first made for the grave of Helmut Kraatz at Georgen-Parochialfriedhof 2 and installed there. The current location in the middle of the main path from Friedenstrasse on the St. Petri Luisenstadt cemetery was re-selected in the 1990s after the damaged plastic was repaired. It is believed that a fountain previously stood at this point. The stone lying in front of the sculpture bears the inscription: “Professor Helmut Kraatz (1902–1983); Maria Kraatz (1918–1972). In memory of the great Berlin doctor and teacher. Friends and students. " | |
