Detailed memorial texts

  1. a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z part of the large housing estate Trachau, construction phase up to 1933 best known example of the new building in Dresden and representative of the non-profit housing construction of the Weimar people Republic , then consistently continued in traditional construction, thus exemplary of the paradigm shift in architecture and urban planning after 1933.
  2. a b c d Construction of a small settlement of the Bauverein Gartenheim eGmbH roughly between Aachener Strasse, Platanenstrasse, Böttgerstrasse and Kronenstrasse, consisting of a total of eleven buildings with accompanying greenery in front of and behind the houses as well as small portals and fences, traditionally designed houses with hip or Saddle roofs, the perforated facades enlivened by folding shutters, lattice windows, open loggias, the restrained decoration mostly on gables, porches and entrance axes, roof structures, despite the different designs, the overall context is recognizable in the details, one of the highest quality systems of traditional housing developments from the 1920s in Dresden, architectural history, artistically and in terms of urban development history (LfD / 2010).
  3. a b c d e f g The apartment building on Leipziger Strasse in Dresden, OT Trachau, which was built shortly before / until 1899, and the neighboring houses Leipziger Strasse 169, 171, 173, 175, 177, 179 and 181 form a remarkable late-founding street. It is apparently based on a uniform planning concept. In the broad house front (facade development) arranged over a curvilinear floor plan, there are buildings that are almost mirror-inverted, starting from the center (Leipziger Straße 175). Apart from a few details of the decoration, Leipziger Strasse 173 and 177, 171 and 179 and the corner buildings Leipziger Strasse 169 and 181 are the same. With this urban development feature, the ensemble Leipziger Strasse 169 to 181 in Dresden is a rarity. A comparable, symmetrically constructed group of buildings is only known to date with the houses Pfotenhauerstrasse 74, 76, 78, 80, 82 and 84 in Johannstadt. Apart from that, the building with its ornate, historic clinker stone facade is a striking example of the architecture of its time and therefore significant in terms of building history (LfD / 2015).
  4. The two-storey rental villa with a flattened hipped roof , which was built on Platanenstrasse in Dresden-Trachau after 1895, was built in 1897 at the same time as the structurally identical neighboring property, Platanenstrasse 15. The application for the construction of a residential and side building, which the bricklayer Ernst Gustav Schäfer had already submitted in autumn of the previous year, was approved in March 1897. The owner of the neighboring villa number 15, which differs from number 13 only in the decorative details, was Schäfer's father-in-law, the Trachau landowner Hermann August Stephan. The smoothly plastered façades of the house are structured above a high basement level clad with natural stone only by cornices and cornices. In the form of simple cornice pieces, the roofs of the high rectangular window openings with sandstone reveals are kept simple. The four-axis street front, designed as the main exhibition side, is lavishly designed with the help of a two-axis central projection with a high, curved angled gable and a two-story arbor in front of it. The decorative elements shown on the construction drawing, such as the small obelisks crowning the gable or the spherical attachments on the balcony balustrade, were either never implemented or no longer preserved. The property is delimited from the public space by the construction-time fencing. In the rear area of the property is the single-storey annex building with a curved ornamental gable, which was erected above the border to the neighboring plot 218h, in which the laundry room and equipment room of the two front buildings were located. At the end of the 19th century the farming village of Trachau was transformed into a suburban settlement with residential and commercial buildings for civil servants, merchants, teachers and retirees as a result of the construction of the Dresden-Leipzig railway line running through Trachauer Flur in 1839 and the continued expansion of Dresden. The vast majority of the new buildings erected on the former fields were two-story rental villas in a historicist style. This development was also accelerated by the direct connection to the railroad with the opening of the Trachau stop in 1902 and the political incorporation of the village into Dresden in 1903. As a typical representative of a historicizing Dresden rental villa from the end of the 19th century, which with its curved bent gable was designed primarily based on the German Renaissance, the villa at Platanenstrasse 13 is significant in terms of architectural history. In connection with the villa development in the planned quarter in the North-east of Trachau, also known as the Wilder Mann district, it is also of importance in terms of the history of the local development, as the rapid development of this so-called Wilder Mann district at the turn of the century can be seen in the characteristic buildings. Even before the First World War, the nearby Wilder-Mann-Straße, which was expanded in 1898, was almost completely built up (LfD / 2015).
  5. In October 1896, the Trachau landowner Hermann August Stephan submitted a request to the community of Trachau for the construction of a residential and side building on the plane tree road, which was newly built after 1895. From his son-in-law and owner of the neighboring parcel, the bricklayer Ernst Gustav Schäfer, an identical house building application was received. The building permit for the structurally identical, two-story rental villas with a flattened hipped roof were both received in March of the following year. The street-side facade of Platanenstrasse 15, counting four window axes, presents itself by means of a slightly protruding, two-axis central projection and a two-storey balcony in front of it as the main viewing side. The remaining facades of the smoothly plastered structure are only structured by cornices and cornices. In the form of simple cornice pieces, the roofs of the high rectangular window openings with sandstone reveals are kept simple. In contrast to this, the blown ornamental gable closing the risalit and the arbor are richly decorated: pilasters and entablature zone structure the eye-catcher crowned with spherical attachments and decorated with figurative medallions and rosettes. Pillars and spherical attachments were also used to decorate the arbor in front. The property is delimited from the public space by the construction-time fencing. In the rear area of the property is the single-storey annex building with a curved ornamental gable, which was erected over the border to the neighboring plot 218g, in which the laundry room and equipment room of the two front buildings were located. The construction of the Dresden-Leipzig railway line and the progressive expansion of the residential city of Dresden at the end of the 19th century meant for Trachau the change from a farming village to a suburban settlement with residential and commercial buildings for civil servants, merchants, teachers and retirees. The development of the areas previously used for agriculture corresponded mainly to the type of two-story, historicist rental villa. This development received additional impetus from the direct connection to the railroad with the opening of the Trachau stop in 1902 and the political incorporation of the village into Dresden in 1903. As a typical representative of a historicizing Dresden rental villa from the end of the 19th century, which with its high gable was designed primarily based on the German Renaissance, Villa Platanenstrasse 15 is of architectural significance. In connection with the villa development in the planned quarter in the Northeast Trachau, also known as the Wilder Mann district, is also of importance in terms of the history of the local development, as the rapid development of this so-called Wilder Mann district at the turn of the century can be seen from the characteristic buildings (LfD / 2015).
  6. a b c d e f g h i j k Gartenheimsiedlung Trachau II: Small settlement of the Bauverein Gartenheim eGmbH roughly between Böttgerstraße, Platanenstraße, Stephanstraße and Burgsdorffstraße, made up of a total of twelve buildings with fences and small portals, traditionally designed houses with hip or Saddle roofs, the perforated facades enlivened by folding shutters, lattice windows, open loggias, the restrained decoration mostly on the porches and entrance axes, roof structures, despite different designs in the details recognizable overall context, somewhat more idiosyncratic Platanenstrasse 17 / 17b with gothic stepped gables, system roughly comparable to the to the west of the neighboring small settlement of Bauverein Gartenheim (see Aachener Strasse 34–38), significant in terms of building history, artistry and urban history (LfD / 2010).
  7. a b c d e f g Small settlement of the Bauverein Kriegerfamilienheim roughly between Böttgerstraße, Schützenhofstraße, Stephanstraße and Platanenstraße, made up of a total of ten buildings with green spaces and fences, buildings traditional multi-storey buildings with hipped roofs, perforated façades and roof structures, emphasis on the entrance axes, mostly horizontal structures , Accentuated by blind arches and fields, round openings, etc., entrance situation to Stephanstraße 81b / 81c emphasized by the wall design and gable wall, distinctive layout of the small apartment and settlement construction of the 1920s, significant in terms of architectural, artistic and urban development history (LfD / 2010).
  8. The five-storey residential building at Rietzstraße 32 b in Dresden, OT Trachau, built over a semicircular floor plan, is one of the most striking corner buildings in Dresden in terms of urban planning. Because of its height, it is visible from afar in the street. The idiosyncratic floor plan, the “tower-like” character and the façade design that contrasts with the surroundings lead to an unmistakable urban development-historical uniqueness of the property to be assessed here, which establishes the urban development value. Apart from that, the towering corner house, built between 1926 and 1927, is an exemplary example of the objectified architecture from the beginning of the 20th century, which continued into the 1920s, and is therefore also significant in terms of building history. Typical for this era were clearly structured , almost unadorned buildings that culminated in high roofs. Despite the compulsion to accommodate the building on a corner that was previously undeveloped and offered comparatively little space, the facade shows a harmonious and balanced appearance. The neoclassical-style pilaster structure from the first to the third floor is particularly striking. The restrained but elegant decorative mirrors on the window parapets have an invigorating effect. A side archway leads to the interior of the house. Although the design of the fourth floor is different, it was not a later ingredient, but rather arose during the construction of the house. The bandwidth of the architecture of the 1920s also made possible structural designs in traditionalism, which drew its structural forms from the classical architectural language. Construction elements and ornaments were deliberately handcrafted and carefully set as independent elements. Block-like bodies, high roofs, room curvatures and representative designs were further characteristics of this variety. The public interest in the preservation of Rietzstrasse 32b results from the weight of the relevant protection grounds, the importance of urban development and architectural history, and the fact that comparable buildings are treated as monuments by colleagues in other federal states (LfD / 2012).
  9. Large housing estate Trachau: Building of a spacious settlement from ASSV, GEWOG, GEWOBAG and Siedlergemeinschaft Sonnenlehne eV with Apostle Church, former Güntzheim, boiler house, other functional buildings, outdoor sculptures, green design, etc. between Aachener Strasse, Schützenhofstrasse, Richard-Rösch-Strasse and Industriestrasse, entire system axial Oriented towards the former Güntzheim, built from 1929 to the end of the 1950s, the most important example of New Building in Dresden, also exemplifying the paradigm shift in architecture and urban planning after 1933, involvement of several architects, buildings from the Weimar Republic modern, functionalist, with clear Baukuben, flat roofs, ribbon windows, loggias, etc., closely related to the Bauhaus, the arcade houses in Halleystraße are remarkable, the terraced houses in Schützenhofstraße are smaller, buildings in the upper part of Aachener Straße with modern facades and hipped roofs create a transition to the garden house opposite dlung, houses from the Nazi era traditionalist, with perforated facades and hipped roofs, continuation of this formal conception until the end of the 1950s, next to Hellerau the most important settlement complex from the first half of the 20th century in Dresden, with Rundling and Meyer's houses in Leipzig one of the most ambitious urban planning Saxon settlements of that time, also the largest complex of small apartments and housing developments around 1930 in Saxony, historically important in terms of building history, urban development history and in parts artistically significant and unique (LfD / 2010).

  10. The residential complex built around 1930 with a perforated facade and hipped roofs with an L-shaped floor plan on Bunsenstrasse and Wöhlerstrasse consists of 4 multi-family houses built next to one another. On the four-storey, largely unadorned residential buildings, the stairwell axes are highlighted by plastered, color-contrasting risalits with straight, slightly tiered ends and are enlivened by expressionist shapes such as triangles, graduations and acute angles. Conspicuously grooved windows and front door glazing in all stairwells. The striking complex refers to the structural development of this part of Trachau around 1930, primarily as a workers' residential area, which gives it an informative value in terms of urban development history. In addition, the residential complex is a testament to the architecture of its time of architectural and urban significance (LfD / 2014).
