List of pyramids in the district of Central Saxony
The list of local pyramids in the district of Mittelachsen offers an overview of the current and former rotating pyramids in the cities and municipalities of the district of Mittelachsen in public places. Originally made for domestic use, the Christmas pyramids have also been made as large outdoor pyramids since the 1930s. They are an integral part of customs in the Saxon Ore Mountains and meanwhile also in large parts of the Erzgebirge foothills , some of which are in the south or the center of the district. - In this region, however, they have a history that goes back almost as far, because the first outdoor pyramid was erected in Frankenberg as early as 1938 .
In many places, the pyramid pushing is celebrated annually around the First Advent . Most pyramids rotate until the new year , in some places until Candlemas .

The oldest preserved and still in use local pyramid was erected in Niederwiesa in 1961 .
