history

In 1374 the Heilsbronn Monastery in Mörlach bought a slope from Friz Schem. In 1479 the monastery bought an estate there. In addition to Heilsbronn, Eichstätt, the German Order and the Lords of Seckendorf were also wealthy there.

Mörlach was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 23 properties and 1 communal shepherd's house. The landlords were the Merkendorf administration office (2 properties), the Arberg-Ornbau caste office in Eichstätt (14 properties), the Eschenbach municipal bailiff of the Teutonic Order (4 properties) and the Wiesethbruck manor (2 properties, 1 economy). Nothing in these conditions had changed by the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

In 1806 Mörlach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the Gemeindeedikt Mörlach was the control district Großenried assigned. A little later the rural community Mörlach was formed. It was subject to the Herrieden district court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 3.159 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Bechhofen on July 1, 1971.
