Miho Takagi ( Japanese 高木 美 帆 , Takagi Miho ; born May 22, 1994 in Makubetsu on Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese speed skater.

Career

At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Zakopane ( Poland ) she was able to achieve second place with the Japanese team.

Her greatest success so far is her qualification for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as the youngest Japanese speed skater of all time at the age of 15. She was able to achieve 23rd place in the individual competitions over 1500 meters and 35th place over 1000 meters. She was also a replacement for the Japanese team, which was ultimately decorated with silver . In 2010 Takagi attended Satsunai Middle School ( Tokachi Sub-Prefecture ). In 2011 she won the silver medal in the team run and the bronze medal over 2 × 500 m at the speed skating junior world championships. 2012 and 2013 she won the gold medal in the all-around competition, in 2012 the gold medal over 1000 m and the silver medal in the team run and in 2013 the gold medal over 1500 and in the team run as well as two silver medals over 1000 and 3000 m at the speed skating junior world championships.

In the 2015/16 season, Takagi won her first World Cup victories in the team pursuit in Inzell and two in Heerenveen . In addition, she was third in the mass start in Heerenveen.
