The Mongolian Autonomous District of Bayingolin ( Chinese 巴音郭楞蒙古自治州 , Pinyin Bāyīnguōléng Měnggǔ Zìzhìzhōu ; Uighur بايىنغولىن موڭغۇل ئاپتونوم ئوبلاستى Bayinƣolin Mongƣol Aptonom Oblasti ; Mongolian ᠪᠠᠶᠠᠨᠭᠣᠣᠯ ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠥᠪᠡᠷᠲᠡᠭᠡᠨ ᠵᠠᠰᠠᠬᠤ ᠵᠧᠦ) is located in the central southeast of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in the PRC. Its capital is Korla. Bayingolin has an area of 462,700 km². The autonomous district is subordinate to a city, seven districts and an autonomous district:

the town of Korla (庫爾勒市 Kù'ěrlè Shì).
the district of Bügür (輪台县 Lúntái Xiàn), main town: Luntai municipality (輪台鎮),
Hejing District (和靜县 Héjìng Xiàn), capital: Hejing Municipality (和靜鎮),
the district of Hoxud (和碩县 Héshuò Xiàn), capital: large municipality Tewilga (特吾裏克鎮),
the district of Bagrax (博湖县 Bóhú Xiàn), capital: Bohu municipality (博湖鎮),
Lopnur district (尉犁县 Yùlí Xiàn), main town: Yuli municipality (尉犁鎮),
Qakilik District (若羌县 Ruòqiāng Xiàn), capital: Ruoqiang Municipality (若羌鎮),
the district of Qarqan (且末县 Qiěmò Xiàn), capital: the large municipality of Qiemo (且末鎮),
Yanqi Hui Autonomous County (焉耆回族自治县 Yānqí), capital: Yanqi Municipality (焉耆鎮).

In the 2000 census, Bayingolin had 1,056,970 inhabitants (population density: 2.28 inh / km²).
